Overview

Web design and development at Lewis and Clark combines hands-on lab practice with design theory. Students work in cross-platform computer labs using current industry software while building skills in web graphics, animation and interactive site design. The associate degree blends computing fundamentals, digital video and audio, layout and web technology with general education courses meant to sharpen critical thinking. A separate short certificate in basic web design teaches image editing in Adobe Photoshop, site development concepts, HTML coding and ways to optimize pages for the internet. The program is housed in the Computer Graphics and Web Design area, and a 30 and Out option exists for students who already hold a degree. Prospective students are directed to the college catalog for course lists and to an advisor for planning.
