AA/AS in Business/Commerce, General

General Business is presented as a good starting point for students who like business but have not chosen a focus. Interests might include marketing, management, accounting, law, international business or starting a company. Students can earn an Associate in Arts in General Business, a Certificate of Achievement, and several shorter certificates of accomplishment in areas such as foundations of business, international business, entrepreneurship and personal financial planning. Multiple credentials can be earned alongside the degree. The curriculum teaches the theories and applications behind business operations. Graduates may begin careers in accounting, small business ownership or social media marketing, and the Career Center can help identify internships. College counselors help students with educational planning, transfer questions and career exploration. Class schedules and program maps are linked from the department page so students can plan each term.
