AA/AS in Anthropology

Anthropology at Long Beach City College introduces the biological and cultural study of humankind across time. Students apply theory, gain hands-on experience, and see the range of interests an anthropology degree can serve. The associate in arts for transfer prepares students to move successfully into a bachelor's program. Training in the discipline suits any career set in a multicultural environment and gives a framework for understanding an increasingly connected world. A program brochure and curriculum guides outline the required courses. Because the field is global, its methods suit careers in diverse workplaces. Academic counselors are available by appointment to review transcripts, plan coursework and discuss transfer or employment goals. The college also points students toward tutoring, financial aid, and other campus services that support them from enrollment through graduation or transfer.
