AA/AS in Architectural Sciences and Technology

The Architectural Design associate degree at Long Beach City College looks at how people move through and use built spaces. Coursework considers the way forms respond to those who live in them, along with the social, ecological and cultural effects that buildings and landscapes carry. Students can combine the degree with short certificates in areas such as building information modeling, design basics and software for designers. Course offerings are posted by term so learners can plan ahead, and career paths include CAD and Revit design and technician roles. Full-time or part-time attendance is possible, with the associate degree generally taking around two years. Counselors help with educational plans, transcript review and transfer questions. Learners can consult the published program map and the catalog to line up each term's classes with their long-term career plans.
