AA/AS in Information Science/Studies

This Associate of Applied Business prepares students to apply data analytics tools and to support data scientists. Analysis is taught with examples from manufacturing and the Internet of Things, marketing, finance and other sources. Over two years, students move from spreadsheets, databases and Python scripting into data management, modeling with R and Python, enterprise visual analytics, machine learning and a capstone. Work-based learning experiences in both years give practical exposure. General education courses in logic, critical thinking and oral communication round out the plan. Transfer pathways exist through the college's university partnership for those who wish to keep studying. Completers earn a Associate of Applied Business degree. The program is listed in the 2026-2027 college catalog under curriculum code 6650, in the Engineering, Business & Information Technologies area. Prospective students can contact the college's advising team for help with admission, enrollment, transfer and graduation questions, and some programs offer credit for prior learning.
