The Associate in Arts in Art: Studio at Los Angeles Valley College gives art students more breadth and depth than the transfer version of the degree. It is aimed at students who want to sharpen their craft and assemble a competitive portfolio for a UC campus or a dedicated art school.
Study at the college can lead toward graphic design, illustration, two-dimensional and three-dimensional design, painting, sculpture, gallery exhibition and art history. These skills carry over to motion pictures, television, theater, fashion, fabrication and fine art production.
Students planning to transfer to UC may gain from extra art history courses from a listed group. A Studio Art AA-T is offered as well, and counselors can help with planning.
