Program details

Overview

The Java Programming Certificate gives students outside a degree program a way to document their skills in the Java language. It is college-approved and sits alongside the degree options in the technology area. Participants learn to build object-oriented programs. They work through sequence, selection, and repetition, then move on to objects, methods, data abstraction, inheritance, and polymorphism while sharpening their ability to analyze and solve problems. The certificate also helps degree-seeking students, since it can show evidence of competence in Java while they continue toward an associate degree. An academic map and advisory committee information are listed on the program page.
