AA/AS in Architectural Engineering Technologies/Technicians

Architectural and Building Technology examines the design, systems, and construction behind buildings. The applied science degree builds marketable skills for the building design profession, with emphasis on applying technology and communicating practical solutions. Students prepare in architectural and graphic design as well as structural and heavy construction principles. They learn to apply building codes with attention to life safety, and gain exposure to steel framing, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems. The curriculum also covers construction materials, job management, scheduling, specifications, and contract documents. Outcomes include understanding how architecture coordinates with related professions, basic structural principles, and sustainable building practices.
