Cert in Legal Support Services

The Paralegal certificate is a post-degree credential for people seeking an affordable, flexible route to an American Bar Association approved qualification. It focuses on practical legal specialty courses and takes relatively little time to complete. To enter, applicants must show proof of an earlier associate or bachelor's degree that includes a minimum amount of approved general education coursework. The college's approval from the ABA means the credential carries recognition in the field. Graduates are expected to understand what legal professionals do in different workplaces, follow ethical and professional standards, use practical skills across several legal subjects, communicate well in writing and conversation, and plan how to start a legal career. Students complete a designated set of legal specialty courses as part of the certificate.
