AA/AS in Hospitality Administration/Management

Graduates of this two-year associate track are aimed at supervisory and middle-management roles in hotels and motels. The coursework is organized around the daily running of a lodging operation, so learners look at guest-facing systems, the legal duties that come with serving the public, and the broader tourism field. Classes are held mainly in the daytime on the Downtown Milwaukee Campus, with a rotating set of evening and weekend sections. Enrollment begins in August or January. Learners are expected to stay involved in the hospitality trade through part-time work while studying, and a required internship near the end of the sequence puts that experience to use. People who thrive here tend to enjoy serving others, stay curious, and can handle long shifts that include holidays. A shorter technical diploma in lodging and hospitality management can be completed along the way, and the Associate in Applied Science may transfer to some four-year schools.
