MA/MS in Communication and Media Studies

Old Dominion University offers a graduate program in Lifespan and Digital Communication that studies how people communicate across stages of life and through digital media. Few programs elsewhere in the country take this particular angle, which joins relational communication with media technology. Students prepare for careers as communication professionals and educators, working with current research tools to address contemporary communication problems. They can choose a focus in Strategic Communication, Media Studies, or Relationships, Health, and Wellness. Courses may be taken on campus or online. Applicants should note separate dates for spring entry, early assistantship consideration, and general fall or summer entry. The program suits aspiring communication specialists, teachers of communication, and working professionals who want a research-informed credential. Prospective students can follow the application link on the department page for next steps.
