Program details

Overview

This Anthropology transfer degree introduces the broad study of humans, their ancestors and their closest primate relatives. It looks at human life across time, from prehistory to today. Students encounter cultural anthropology, linguistic anthropology, human evolution and variation, and archaeology. The program develops a holistic perspective and research methods, and it allows learners to finish lower-division prerequisite and general education coursework needed to move into an anthropology major at a California State University campus. Graduates who meet the conditions are guaranteed admission to a CSU in a comparable major at the junior level. Requirements include sixty transferable units, a general education pattern, at least eighteen units in the major and a cumulative grade point average of 2.0. Students unsure how courses apply at a given university should check with a counselor before enrolling.
