Overview

This option responds to employer demand for middle-skill computer support staff and gives equal weight to technical know-how and the people side of helping users. It can be stacked on the Personal Computer Specialist Certificate. Drawing on several computing areas at the college, students learn to troubleshoot networked systems, apply security measures, spot legal and ethical breaches, and design, implement and maintain local and wide area networks. Plan on 4 semesters and 64 credits to finish this degree. Classes meet on the West Boylston Street campus. Entry calls for a high school diploma or an equivalency credential such as the GED or HiSET. Because tuition is charged by the credit, the total cost depends on how many credits a student takes. In-state and out-of-state or international students pay different rates, and certain programs carry extra fees.
