This bachelor of science prepares students to use data on challenges found in commerce, public agencies, medicine, research settings, and manufacturing. Coursework combines statistical methods, computing, and analytics, with software such as SAS and R in common use.
Graduates pursue roles in biostatistics, business analytics, quality control, forecasting, and market research, and the degree also leads naturally into advanced work in analytics, mathematics, or data science.
Students can complete a co-op, internship, undergraduate research, or study abroad, and may join a campus club for mathematics and statistics. An accelerated bachelor's and master's route is offered. Learners finish with a mix of quantitative reasoning and software skills. Students can also gain employment experience before graduating through co-op or research placements.
