Program details

Overview

The master's degree in biomedical engineering prepares professionals to address urgent challenges in health care. Graduates can create devices, equipment and processes, from artificial organs and prosthetics to drug manufacturing methods and robot-assisted surgical machines. Students can complete the degree within twelve months through a biodesign project followed by a presentation, so they can begin working or continue studying sooner. The degree works as a route to more advanced education and also as a direct entry into a biomedical career. International students who study full time on campus under F-1 visas may qualify for STEM Optional Practical Training. This lets them remain in the United States and work for as long as three years following graduation, which many treat as an important benefit of the program.
