BA/BS in Biology, General

Biology at RIT is a bachelor of science that prepares students for research, biotechnology, conservation, and health-related careers. Laboratory and field experiences are woven through the curriculum, and a large menu of electives lets students shape their own path. Undergraduates can join research mentors early in their studies. Advising is available for those headed toward medical or veterinary school, and a partnership with a medical school in Buffalo offers eligible pre-health students an early admission route. Cooperative education and internships supply real-world experience, and an accelerated bachelor's-to-master's option is offered. The major supports graduate study as well as direct entry into the workforce. Students interested in animals, ecosystems, or medicine can find a suitable direction among the electives.
