AA/AS in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management

The IT Security associate degree has been validated by the NSA and the Department of Homeland Security, and it prepares graduates to help protect computer systems, networks and communications infrastructure in public and private organizations. Courses line up with industry security certifications, and students are exposed to competencies in several CompTIA credentials plus Cisco's technician and associate-level certifications. Completing the degree makes students eligible for the bachelor's program in Information Systems Technology with a security focus. No admission requirements apply; preparatory classes are offered to students who are below college level. Books and laptop costs vary. Prospective students are encouraged to speak with an advisor about sequencing, since planning ahead helps them stay on track toward finishing. Anyone weighing this option can look into scholarships, financial aid and veteran support offered through the college to help cover expenses.
