Program details

Overview

Music at Shasta College serves music majors, students considering music, general education students, and community members returning to learn. The Music Department offers a wide selection of classes for all of these groups. Students can pursue a transfer degree built from the common lower-division courses needed to continue toward a bachelor's in Music at a California State University campus, or an associate degree. A department certificate supplies technical grounding for beginners interested in audio production and the recording arts. The program belongs to the Visual and Performing Arts interest area with Art and Theatre Arts. Program maps show the course sequence, and counselors help students develop a formal education plan. Students may also find the courses useful for personal enrichment and for building broadly transferable skills.
