AA/AS in Communication and Media Studies

Communication Studies at Sierra College is a transfer degree built around public speaking, mass and mediated communication, journalism, and interpersonal, intercultural and group communication. It is offered as an Associate in Arts for Transfer. Coursework trains students to analyze information and arguments, craft effective spoken and written messages, deliver presentations, and develop communication solutions for professional and personal settings. Graduates go on to work in law, marketing, journalism, business, politics, multimedia, video production, broadcasting and telecommunications. A zero textbook cost pathway is available for this program. Students can choose between two tracks, Communication Studies and Journalism.
