AA/AS in Communication and Media Studies

The Associate of Arts in Communication Studies serves students who want a career in communication or who wish to improve their job prospects. It works either as a transfer degree or as a path into entry-level jobs. Students complete a broad general education core and also study how communication works in theory, in research method and in practice across public and private settings. Early courses include speech fundamentals and public speaking, alongside composition, science and mathematics. The degree totals 60 units and is accepted across the Nevada higher education system and at many four-year schools nationally. It can be finished online, although some assignments or exams may need an in-person visit.
