Program details

Overview

Sierra College's music program prepares students for further study and for work in the music field. The Associate of Arts for Transfer is intended for students who want to move into the California State University system and finish a bachelor's degree in music or a closely related major. Instruction spans music theory and history as well as voice and piano. Students perform in formal concerts, recitals and festivals, which gives them practical stage experience, and they learn from working professionals. A standard associate degree and a certificate of achievement are available in the same department for students with different goals. The program page connects to the course list, sample pathway maps, catalog requirements and learning outcomes, and it points to music events, faculty contacts and ways to support the department.
