Cert in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technologies/Technicians

The Micro-Electronics Technician certificate prepares students quickly for jobs in the microelectronics workforce. Coursework covers digital electronics and integrated circuit fabrication, which underpin devices in consumer products, automobiles, medical equipment, and industrial controls. Students learn the techniques used to design and build circuit chips. Core courses include electronics schematics and fabrication, integrated circuit fabrication techniques, math for technologists, physics for technology, and introductory DC and AC circuits. Learners also complete digital technology training. Graduates may enter chip fabrication, microcontroller programming, digital electronics support, or field technical support roles. Learners also practice reading technical literature and conducting standard tests, which helps them analyze results and troubleshoot circuit problems in a production environment. Hands-on laboratory work reinforces each concept, preparing students for the precise measurement and documentation that electronics technicians perform every day.
