Cert in Electromechanical Technologies/Technicians

Learners in this certificate train to set up, service, and diagnose faults in present-day industrial equipment. They work through realistic maintenance problems and become comfortable interpreting mechanical drawings and technical maintenance documents. The result is a base of knowledge applicable to many kinds of electro-mechanical machinery. The course list spans direct and alternating current circuits, electrical machines, wiring of industrial equipment, programmable logic controllers, robotics used in computer-integrated manufacturing, sensors, vision systems, fluid power, and fault-finding in automated systems. Mechanical and electrical fundamentals are covered as well. Students also build record-keeping and diagnostic routines that let technicians get equipment running again promptly and without taking risks. Graduates understand how mechanical, electrical, and fluid components interact on a production line and are prepared for maintenance positions centered on finding electrical and fluid power problems.
