AA/AS in Dance

Dance at Southwestern College is a study of physical expression as an art form. The department offers an Associate in Arts degree in Dance aimed at preparing students to transfer to a university. The degree is part of the college's field of study for arts, communication, design and media. It is taught at the Chula Vista campus and has a program map that lays out the course sequence. Students planning to major in dance or a related performing arts subject at a four-year institution can use the program to complete lower-division requirements. Faculty and a student success coach are available for advising and enrollment support. Prospective students can contact the admissions office to begin the application process, and the college lists current class start dates and important deadlines on its site, with faculty and a student success coach available for guidance.
