MA/MS in Educational/Instructional Media Design

This online program prepares graduates for state licensure as a school librarian while building leadership in technology and information literacy. Students study the foundations of librarianship, with particular attention to serving children and young adults. The curriculum weaves developmental psychology of children and adolescents into the literature courses, and it grounds the study of elementary, middle, and secondary schools in the philosophy of education. Students aim to promote equal access to technology and support digital literacy in their schools. Candidates who do not already hold a current Minnesota teaching license complete extra coursework and student teaching, which lengthens the time to completion and the credits needed. The program welcomes students of all genders, and graduate students may qualify for loans, grants, and employer-partnership tuition reductions.
