Cert in Visual and Performing Arts, Other

The Digital Arts Certificate explores how digital technologies change the way people make, perform and experience art. It aims to give students skills for applying new technology across several media to new artistic expression. The Department of Theatre Arts runs the certificate with partners in engineering, music, art and design, computer science and cinematic arts. Artists, engineers and computer scientists work together on projects they design as a group. Faculty from seven units teach courses that link technology and the arts, and any University of Iowa student may earn the certificate unless already pursuing a graduate or professional degree at the university. The certificate sits alongside a student's regular studies and is listed on the university admissions site, where applicants can request information or start an application.
