Overview
This page covers both the master's degree and the doctorate in Mathematics. The Graduate College confers them, and the Liberal Arts and Sciences college provides instruction. The master's is completed without a thesis.
Applying happens in two stages: candidates first complete the online application and pay the fee, then sign in to their applicant account to upload supporting documents and arrange for letters of recommendation. Instead of the usual written supplements, applicants provide a form describing the courses they have taken, together with recommendations. Admission offers and teaching posts usually go out between February and May. Applicants must satisfy Graduate College and departmental standards. Entry is limited to the autumn term, and the GRE is not part of the requirements.
