AA/AS in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication

Valencia offers this pathway for students who plan to continue in advertising or public relations at a four-year school. It forms part of the Associate in Arts and is designed around a move to UCF after the second year. Within the pathway, learners complete the shared prerequisites that Florida public institutions expect for the major. Two are listed: an economics principles course, taken in either its macro or micro version, and a speech fundamentals course. Some of these classes can double as general education credit. Students are encouraged to build a plan that combines their A.A. requirements with the transfer prerequisites, and to go over that plan with an academic coach. Finishing the pathway does not secure a seat in a restricted upper-division program, since each destination school applies its own rules.
