AA/AS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technologies/Technicians

Electronics Engineering Technology at Wharton County Junior College earns an Associate of Applied Science credential and emphasizes laboratory work, where students design, build and test electronic projects. The degree runs four semesters and 60 credit hours. Instruction blends theory of electronics with diagnosing faults in individual components and general problem solving. A Level I certificate in industrial electronics offers a shorter entry point whose courses can count toward the degree. The college reports that graduates have been placed in industry for more than five decades, and it lists related jobs such as electrical and electronics repairers and drafters. Program-specific admission criteria may apply in addition to general admission. The college serves the Upper Texas Gulf Coast from several campuses. Prospective students can consult the college catalog for course details, follow the academic map for a semester-by-semester plan, and speak with an advisor or the department before they submit an application.
