BA/BS in Computer Science

The Bachelor of Science in computer science prepares students for work with software and computing systems. It sits within the College of Engineering and is housed in the School of Computing. The degree requires a minimum of 120 credit hours, which include 65 hours of major courses. Students also finish the university's general education curriculum alongside the engineering college's own rules. Math and science form a large part of the plan, with calculus, discrete structures and physics alongside the computing core, and the curriculum closes with a two-part senior design project. Technical electives let students deepen their interests, with most of them taken within the School of Computing. Major courses must be passed with a grade point average of at least 2.000. Wichita State University offers the degree on its Wichita campus, and students should consult their academic advisor early to plan the sequence of courses across the semesters.
