BA/BS in Mathematics

The mathematics bachelor's program builds a foundation in mathematical theory and the methods used to apply it. Students progress through a core of mathematics courses while meeting the university's general education and college requirements. The program suits students who value rigorous reasoning and problem solving across many fields. Advanced electives are organized into groups, and students select additional courses from those groups to complete the major. The catalog lists which courses belong to each group, so students can map out a path that matches their academic interests. Advisors help students assemble a coherent sequence and plan for life after graduation. Students gain experience with proof-based reasoning and applied modeling, which builds habits of precise thinking that carry into advanced study.
