Cert in Dance

The commercial dance certificate prepares students for professional performance in the entertainment industry. Its emphasis is on settings that range from film and video shoots to cruise ship productions and touring musicals, where versatility across dance and performance styles matters. Students draw on training from music, theatre, and dance across the university's arts programs. Required courses include ballet technique, hip hop technique, and applied voice training for musical theatre. Earning the credential depends on maintaining a 2.000 average in the certificate coursework and passing each course with a C or better. Students build versatility across movement styles and vocal performance, which helps them move between the different production settings the certificate addresses. Students finish the certificate with a set of performance-focused credentials.
