MA/MS in Computer Science

The Master of Science in computer science is aimed at people who finished a four-year computer science degree or something close to it. Those from engineering, math or science can also enter if they fill in gaps in their background. Any undergraduate courses assigned to fill those gaps are decided when the student is admitted and do not count toward the master's degree. A bachelor's GPA of 3.000 is the baseline, or the equivalent score from a foreign grading system. Those whose bachelor's degree comes from outside the United States send GRE General Test scores with the application, though no minimum score is set and an above-average quantitative result is preferred. Applicants whose first language is not English also provide proof of English proficiency under Graduate School rules. Wichita State University publishes the degree in its graduate catalog, and prospective students should contact the department for guidance on choosing an advisor and planning a course of study.
