BA/BS in Chemical Engineering

The Chemical Engineering program combines engineering courses with chemistry, physics and mathematics. It prepares graduates to design, run and manage operations in chemical, biomedical, nuclear, pharmaceutical and energy industries. Graduates are expected to command engineering fundamentals, treat safety as paramount, and act responsibly on ethical, environmental and global issues. Faculty research touches areas typical of the discipline and interdisciplinary programs. Entry to the program requires a minimum overall GPA plus a C or better in chemistry, calculus and writing courses, each repeatable once. An unrecalculated C average is required in the major and in engineering courses. Students prepare to work as practicing engineers or to continue to graduate study that leads to research or academic careers.
