International Business University (IBU) is a private, independent teaching university in downtown Toronto, Ontario, specializing in business and applied technology education.
It became the first independent university established under Ontario's ministerial consent framework when the Minister of Colleges and Universities granted consent in December 2020, following a quality review by the Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board (PEQAB), and it welcomed its first students in September 2021. As a Designated Learning Institution, IBU can host international students on Canadian study permits.
The university operates from its main campus at 655 Bay Street in downtown Toronto and maintains an additional site on Bank Street in Ottawa. Its academic portfolio is deliberately compact: three Honours Bachelor of Commerce majors (Business Management, Digital Sales and Marketing Management, and International Management and Technology), a Master of Business Administration offered across several on-campus and online specializations, and a Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence with streams in Industrial Innovation and Data Engineering.
Each graduate specialization has been individually approved through Ontario's ministerial consent process.
