Founded 1933 as Housheng Accountancy Training School.
After several changes, it became Hunan Private Housheng. Became public 1951.
Merged with Taxation Class for Cadres to become Hunan Finance and Politics School 1953. Became Hunan Finance, Politics and Accountancy School 1965.
The school shutted down, then became a secondary vocational school (1969,1970).
Became Hunan School of Accountancy 1973. Renamed as Hunan Finance and Economics Institute 1979.
Became Hunan Finance and Economics Vocational College 1993 (upgraded). Acquired present status and title 2010.
