De Montfort University (DMU) is a public university in Leicester, England, with its main Gateway campus in the city centre and additional campuses in London, Dubai, Kazakhstan and Cambodia.

Its roots trace to 1870, when art classes began in a former Leicester warehouse; the institution later operated as Leicester School of Art, Leicester College of Art, Leicester College of Technology and Leicester Polytechnic before gaining university status. DMU today teaches around 26,000 students and employs around 2,600 staff, organised into a Faculty of Business and Law (which includes the Leicester Castle Business School) alongside schools such as the Leicester School of Pharmacy and the School of Humanities and Performing Arts.
