Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a public university in Nottingham, England, tracing its roots to 1843 and holding university status since 1992.
It operates across five sites: the City Campus in central Nottingham, the Clifton Campus, the rural Brackenhurst estate, a London site in Whitechapel, and the Mansfield Hub run with West Nottinghamshire College. NTU is organised into seven Academic Schools — Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences; Architecture, Design and the Built Environment; Nottingham Business School; Nottingham Law School; Nottingham School of Art & Design; Science and Technology; and Social Sciences — offering foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral study.
With over 40,000 students and staff combined, it is one of the UK's larger higher education providers. Around a third of its students come from the East Midlands, and the university was awarded Gold in the 2023 Teaching Excellence Framework.
