Overview
The London Interdisciplinary School (LIS) is a university based on Whitechapel Road in London, created in 2018 by a group of academics, entrepreneurs and investors who set out to build an institution that teaches across subject boundaries rather than within a single discipline.
LIS says it was the first British university in over 50 years to be granted Degree Awarding Powers from the outset. Its faculty includes philosophers, scientists, artists and entrepreneurs who teach a curriculum built around interdisciplinary problem-solving rather than single-subject research.
