Overview

Barbados Community College's Associate Degree in Information Technology (Full-Time) is designed for students working toward the Associate in Arts track or the Associate in Science track, and is built around eight courses completed over two years. It is particularly suited to students planning to continue to university-level study in Sciences, Social Sciences, Business or Technology, since all of those paths now involve working closely with computers. By folding an Information Technology module into the wider Associate in Arts and Associate in Science structure, the College gives students more flexibility in choosing the other subjects they study alongside it. The result is a programme that treats computing literacy as a foundation for almost any further academic direction, rather than a narrow specialism on its own.
