Overview
The Technology Entry (TE) program offers a broad introduction to post-secondary education in a focused and welcoming atmosphere. TE provides solid academic preparation to help you meet Technology program entry requirements in core areas such as communication, mathematics, chemistry, and physics. An introductory course in computer applications, a learning skills seminar, and an overview of technology options and related careers, round out the traditional academic subjects. TE is also suitable for those who need B.C. educational equivalents to supplement credentials earned in other school systems.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Open to both domestic and international applicants; international applicants need a valid BCIT study permit before starting. Applicants who satisfy every requirement are accepted on a first-qualified basis while space remains, and BCIT warns intakes may fill before the deadline. English: two years of English-language education in an English-speaking country, plus either Composition 11 at 50% (or an accepted equivalent qualifying course at 50%) or 3.0 credits of post-secondary English, humanities or social sciences from a recognised institution. Mathematics — one of Pre-Calculus 11 at 60% or higher, Foundations of Math 11 at 73% or higher, an accepted equivalent secondary course, or a pass on the BCIT mathematics competency test. Science: every student takes chemistry and physics. The January intake offers both grade 11 and grade 12 options while the September intake offers grade 11 only; the grade 12 courses require Chemistry 11 at 60% and Physics 11 at 60% as prerequisites.

Application Deadline:Two intakes on BCIT's common credential dates: for the September intake applications open 1 October and close 1 September for domestic applicants, 2 July for international applicants; for the January intake they open 1 February and close 2 January domestic, 1 November international. Places go on a first-qualified basis and BCIT warns intakes may fill before the deadline. International applicants are accepted with a valid study permit.
