Entry is staged through coursework: applicants start with COMP 1516 (Applied Programming Fundamentals with Python), must repeat it if they score under 70%, then register in COMP 2509 the following term once they pass COMP 1516 at 70% or better, and only then may apply for formal ASD program approval. Admission is not institute-wide rolling, but many programs work first-qualified-first-accepted and can fill before the posted deadline, and several programs, mostly in Health Sciences, trades and graduate studies, run entirely separate application tables of their own.
