The Master of Science in Physics at Brock University's Faculty of Mathematics and Science offers research training in theoretical physics, experimental condensed matter physics and materials science, and biophysics. Students gain extensive experience in research, critical thinking, and technical and communication skills through hands-on use of sophisticated laboratory equipment. Recent research activity spans applied materials science, the structural, magnetic, transport, and optical properties of thin-film, single-crystal, and bulk materials, the structural and physical characteristics of biological membranes and membrane proteins, and problems in computational, mathematical, and theoretical physics. The thesis-based program is completed over six terms (two years) of full-time study, with entry points in January, May, and September. Applicants must meet Brock's general graduate admission requirements, submitting transcripts, two academic references, and a statement of research interests, in addition to the online application and non-refundable application fee.
