Overview
The Bookkeeping Fundamentals Certificate program will prepare you with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide bookkeeping support for today’s office. The certificate program is for students who require flexibility and convenience to complete their educational goals or to enhance their existing credentials. Employment possibilities include support-level bookkeeping positions in a variety of business settings. Upon graduation, you will acquire a Camosun College Certificate in Bookkeeping Fundamentals. You may be able to use courses taken in this program toward other credentials with the School of Business or in other programs at the College.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry to this certificate requires C+ in English 12, or C in English 12 Camosun Alternative, which stands as the programme's language requirement; no separate IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo or CAEL score is published. A math prerequisite also applies: C in Math 11, MATH 077 or MATH 137, or C+ in MATH 072, MATH 075 or MATH 135. Applicants must submit proof of the stated grade or higher, and where a letter grade is specified they must hold that grade or better. Those missing the English or math requirement may take an assessment or an upgrading course before applying. The certificate runs three intakes a year: September, January and May.

Applying by the early date puts your file in front of Admissions in time for priority course registration; nothing is accepted after the final date. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS have separate deadlines: 1 June for a September (Fall) start, 1 October for January (Winter) and 1 February for May (Summer). Those dates hold only while seats remain, so a popular intake can close sooner; a later application may still be looked at if seats are open and there is time to obtain a study permit.
