Overview
In the Digital Content Creation Program, you will acquire the skills to be successful in the fast-changing digital media industry. You will combine technology and creativity to create products such as web pages, videos, still images, podcasts, and written copy for academic, commercial and social purposes such as marketing, public relations, advocacy, research and storytelling. The program offers a practical approach to the study of media, with supporting academic courses. You will develop hands-on skills in the following aspects of media production: digital audio, video, and photography; web-based design; and writing. Successful graduates of the program will have production, design, and storytelling skills supported by fundamental theoretical and technical knowledge. You can complete an optional internship work experience in this program. Media and communications employers work with the college to provide career-focussed opportunities.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry to this certificate requires C in English 12, or C in English 12 Camosun Alternative, as the stated language requirement; no separate IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo or CAEL score is published. Applicants must submit proof of the stated grade or higher when they apply, matching Camosun's usual documentation rule across its programme pages. The page sets no portfolio, interview, work-experience, GPA, age, immunisation or criminal-record-check condition beyond the English grade. Applicants missing the requirement may pursue an assessment or an upgrading course through Camosun's Upgrading and College Prep offerings before applying. The certificate has a single annual intake, in September, and covers content-creation skills across digital media formats.
Application Details
Start Date:September
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through EducationPlannerBC for Camosun's open-enrolment programmes: for Fall 2027 (September) applications open 1 October 2026 with an early deadline of 15 May 2027 for priority registration and a late deadline of 26 August 2027; Winter 2027 (January) runs 15 September 2026 to 7 January 2027, and Summer 2027 (May) 15 January 2027 to 29 April 2027. Limited-enrolment programmes publish only an opening date and can close once the waitlist exceeds the seats on offer. International applicants must submit a complete application by 1 June (Fall), 1 October (Winter) or 1 February (Summer), though later applications are still reviewed while seats remain, making admission effectively rolling for both groups once the early deadlines pass. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
