Overview
Classical and Medieval Studies at the University of Regina, delivered through Campion College together with the University of Regina, First Nations University of Canada, and Luther College, leads to a Bachelor of Arts over four years, with a Bachelor of Arts Honours option. The program focuses undergraduate study on the languages, literatures, history, and cultures of the Classical (Greek and Roman) and Medieval periods, with coursework ranging from introductory surveys of Greco-Roman civilization to specialized topics such as the Crusades and daily life in the Middle Ages. Students may study the Ancient Greek and Latin languages alongside Greek and Latin literature in translation, and coursework examines how classical and medieval ideas continue to influence contemporary society. The curriculum centres on close reading of historical and literary texts, developing analytical and interpretive skills applicable to further humanities study or related careers such as publishing, curatorial work, writing, and librarianship.
