Overview
The Department of Biology at the University of Regina, studied through Campion College, offers a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Science Honours at the undergraduate level, and a Master of Science and PhD at the graduate level, within the Faculty of Science. Coursework covers ecology, environmental biology, physiology, microbiology, cellular biology, and molecular biology, with laboratory components supervised by full-time laboratory instructors and smaller class sizes in upper-year courses. Students can pursue an honours designation, take part in undergraduate research, or enter a co-operative education option. The department maintains research facilities including an aquatics facility, a field station in the Cypress Hills, and research institutes providing microscopy, proteomics, and genomics equipment, along with partnerships with the Royal Saskatchewan Museum and a provincial government laboratory. The program suits undergraduates seeking hands-on laboratory and field experience and graduate students pursuing advanced, specialized biological research in a smaller academic setting.

Admission Requirements: The Biology program page directs applicants to Undergraduate Admissions rather than stating requirements itself, so it defers to the Faculty of Science general requirements. Saskatchewan high school applicants need Saskatchewan Secondary Level standing with English Language Arts 30, Pre-Calculus 30, and two of Biology 30, Calculus 30, Chemistry 30, Computer Science 30, Earth Science 30 or Physics 30, for a 70% admission average across those five courses; applicants missing one subject but averaging 70% on the remaining four, or averaging 65-69.99% with all five subjects, are admitted instead as a Science Qualifying student. All applicants must meet the university's English language proficiency requirement, satisfied by an IELTS Academic overall band of 6.5 (no band below 6.0), a TOEFL iBT overall score of 4.5 with each of Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing at least 4, a PTE Academic score of 59 (no area below 59), a Duolingo English Test score of 120, or a CAEL score of 60, unless prior education was completed in English.
