Overview
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Regina, studied through Campion College, offers a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Science Honours at the undergraduate level, and a Master of Science and PhD at the graduate level. Teaching and research combine classroom instruction with laboratory experience across seven areas: biochemistry, biophysics, computational chemistry, environmental analytical chemistry, photochemistry, synthetic chemistry, and systems biology, covering topics from enzyme mechanisms and cellular membrane structure to catalyst development, photoresponsive materials, and protein interaction networks relevant to disease research. Undergraduates can take part in a co-operative education program, summer internships, and an honours stream, while graduate students follow separate degree requirements tied to specific research areas. The program suits undergraduates who want laboratory-based training with exposure to a broad set of chemical and biochemical research areas, and graduate students seeking to specialize in one of the department's research fields, such as environmental chemistry or systems biology.

Admission Requirements: The Chemistry and Biochemistry department page has no admission section and links to Undergraduate Admissions and the Application Guide, so it defers to the Faculty of Science general requirements. Saskatchewan high school applicants need Saskatchewan Secondary Level standing with English Language Arts 30, Pre-Calculus 30, and two of Biology 30, Calculus 30, Chemistry 30, Computer Science 30, Earth Science 30 or Physics 30, for a 70% admission average across those five courses; applicants missing one subject but averaging 70% on the remaining four, or averaging 65-69.99% with all five subjects, are admitted instead as a Science Qualifying student. All applicants must meet the university's English language proficiency requirement, satisfied by an IELTS Academic overall band of 6.5 (no band below 6.0), a TOEFL iBT overall score of 4.5 with each of Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing at least 4, a PTE Academic score of 59 (no area below 59), a Duolingo English Test score of 120, or a CAEL score of 60, unless prior education was completed in English.
