Trades - Apprenticeship in General Carpenter Apprenticeship

General Carpenter Apprenticeship is a Canadore College programme for registered apprentices, delivered full-time and on-campus at the Commerce Court Campus, training apprentices to use hand and power tools while working with different wood types and products. The in-school portion consists of three training levels, each an eight-week block of 30 hours per week, totalling 240 hours per level, and covers advanced wood joinery, building processes and fastening systems, forming, framing and stair construction, and the installation of windows, doors and cabinets. On completion, apprentices earn a Certificate of Qualification and are eligible to challenge the Ontario Certificate of Qualification exam for the carpentry trade. Admission is restricted to individuals who are signed apprentices registered with Skilled Trades Ontario.
