Trades - Apprenticeship in Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship

The Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship focuses on the welding, layout and fitting techniques used in the metal fabrication industry. Delivered in a day-release format at the Commerce Court Campus, the program allows apprentices to continue working and earning income while attending in-school training one day per week. The program runs across three levels: Level 1 (Common Core) totals 300 hours over 50 weeks, and Levels 2 and 3 (Fitter) each total 210 hours over 35 weeks. In-school training builds trade skills and the technical grounding needed for supervisory and leadership roles within the fabrication industry. Successful completion of all three levels makes graduates eligible to challenge the Ontario Certificate of Qualification exam. New intakes are accepted monthly. Enrolment requires an active registration as a signed apprentice with Skilled Trades Ontario before applying to the program.
